FlexClip is a cloud based video creation software. What does that mean? You can create your videos without having to download and install an application to do it. It is also extremely easy to use. They provide a simple easy to navigate user interface while offering several great features. They make video creation a breeze for newbies and offer a great feature set for someone that needs to create videos quickly. In this post I am going to talk about what FlexClip is, the plans available when you sign up, it’s features, a basic overview of how to get and use it, and I’ll finish up with some pros and cons and let you know what I think about it.
Who will find FlexClip useful?
- Newbies that don’t have a lot of video creation and editing experience.
- Business users that need to create a video for presentation.
- Content creators that want to create videos for social media or shorter videos for YouTube.
- Home users that want to create a slideshow or some other personal video.
Long story short, FlexClip is meant to be a user friendly, complete, and lower cost video creation platform. Let’s check it out and then decide if it lives up to all of the promise.
4 plans to choose from:
- Free
- Basic
- Plus
- Business
Free plan:
- Free
- 480p SD downloads
- 1 stock video per project
- Video length up to 1 minute
- Maximum 12 projects
Basic plan:
- $5.99 a month ($71.88 billed annually)
- 720 HS downloads
- 1 stock video per project
- Video length up to 3 minutes
- Save unlimited projects online
- Custom watermark
- No FlexClip intro
Plus plan:
- $9.99 a month ($119.88 billed annually)
- 1080p full HD downloads
- 5 stock videos per project
- Video lengths up to 10 minutes
- Save unlimited projects online
- Custom watermark
- No FlexClip intro
Business plan:
- $19.99 per month ($239.88 billed annually)
- 1080p full HD downloads
- Unlimited stock videos per project
- Video lengths up to 30 minutes
- Save unlimited projects online
- Custom watermark
- No FlexClip intro
The difference between the plans is that the higher the plan the more you get with your account. The free plan would be fine if you want to make a short project that only requires one stock video and doesn’t need to be the highest quality. Your video will include a FlexClip intro with the free plan. With a basic plan you get 720 HS, a 3 minute video length, unlimited projects, a custom watermark, and lose the FlexClip intro. The basic plan breaks down to only $5.99 a month. The free or basic plan could work well if you are creating a short personal video. If your needs are more involved or require a higher quality I would recommend either the plus or business plans so you can get 1080p and unlimited projects. Note that with the plus plan you get 5 stock videos per project and with the business plan you get unlimited stock videos.

How to Get Started and Use FlexClip
Go to the FlexClip website and sign up for an account.
Choose Create By Templates or Start From Scratch. For this quick tutorial I chose to use a template.
Search for the type of template you would like to use or navigate to the appropriate category.
Hover your mouse pointer over the template that you like and you will be given the option to Preview or Customize. I am going to choose customize.
Now you are ready to add details to your video to really make it your own and edit it to your liking.
Your options are:
- Media – This includes stock media that FlexClip provides, the option to upload media from your computer, and screen or webcam recording.
- Text – You can add titles/subtitles and dynamic text.
- Overlays – This one includes overlays for text, decorative overlays, logo, intro, and outro.
- Elements – You can add social buttons, shapes, arrows, clipart, emojis, word art, and thought bubbles.
- BKground – This allows you to add backgrounds to your creation.
- Music – You can add stock music that FlexClip provides or upload your own. You can also do basic edits like volume, fading, and looping.
- Watermark – Add your own watermark.
- Ratio – You can change the video ratio so it’s optimized for different types of device.
When you are done editing click Export.
Choose whether you want an MP4 or GIF and the resolution you want and then click Next.
Enter a name for your video, who created it, and pick an intro if you like. Then click Export Video.
Choose if you want to download your video or open it in your default media player.
If you choose to create your video from scratch you have a choice between:
- Storyboard Mode – For easier edit. Use storyboards to build story lines and sort the footage.
- Timeline Mode – For greater control. Allows you more detailed editing while enjoying a user friendly experience.
Here is a short video that I made in about two minutes. I can only imagine what I could have made if I would have taken more time.

My Thoughts on FlexClip
Now that we’ve looked at what FlexClip is and does we have to answer the most important question. Is it any good?
Pros:
- A tutorial to show you how to use FlexClip. They also provide great tips to help you out.
- Lower price than their competitors. They also provide a free plan for more limited and simple projects.
- Plenty of great features and a massive collection of stock images, videos, and music.
- Extremely user friendly.
- Plenty of templates to work with.
- No need to install extra software on your computer. You do all of your work online.
- Various video qualities including 1080p.
Cons:
- Limited video length.
- Some limits on graphics controls.
- No support for 4K VR.
As you can tell, I was impressed after trying out FlexClip. Here is the bottom line. This is a solid and feature packed video creation tool. It is easy to use and even though the free plan is extremely limited their pricing to upgrade is lower than their competitors. If you need to create longer videos or need 4K VR then FlexClip may not be right for you. On the other hand if you don’t have a need to make long videos, don’t need 4K VR, want a user friendly experience, great features, a huge collection of stock media to use, and up to 1080p quality you should give it a try. My verdict is that this is a quality video creation tool and a good choice for most users. You could start with a free membership and if you like it upgrade to get more and better features.
Let me know down in the comments if you gave FlexClip a try. Speaking for myself I know that I will continue using it and have no problem recommending that others try it out for themselves.
