In my last article I posted 13 Spooktacular Movies to Watch this Halloween – For Older Teens and Adults. The following list is for younger viewers, or those that would like to avoid the more disturbing and scary films.
As I said in my last post, in the way that I have set this article up you will get a description of the movie, a trailer, and a link to the content warning. I advise you to check out the content warning before playing these movies for your children. This is a more family friendly list, but it is up to you to decide what content you are comfortable showing your children.
Now let the Halloween fun begin.

The Addams Family (1991)
The Addams Family steps out of Charles Addams’ cartoons. They live with all of the trappings of the macabre (including a detached hand for a servant) and are quite wealthy. During the night, she crosses the passage and finds a parallel world where everybody has buttons instead of eyes, with caring parents and all her dreams coming true. When the Other Mother invites Coraline to stay in her world forever, the girl refuses and finds that the alternate reality where she is trapped is only a trick to lure her.

Casper (1995)
The eternally irritable Ms. Carrigan Crittenden (Cathy Moriarty) discovers that the only thing she’s been left in her recently departed father’s will is a rickety old house in New England. Naturally, the woman is furious about this, until her “close personal friend” and assistant, Paul “Dibs” Plutzker (Eric Idle), discovers a secret message that a treasure may be concealed somewhere in the house. The two take off for Friendship, Maine, only to learn that the house is haunted by Casper (Malachi Pearson) “the friendly ghost” and his three ghostly uncles Stinkie (Joe Alaskey), Stretch (Joe Nipote), and Fatso (Brad Garrett). After futilely recruiting an exorcist (Don Novello, as Father Guido Sarducci from Saturday Night Live (1975)) and a “professional ghost exterminator” (Dan Aykroyd), she brings in “ghost psychiatrist” Dr. James Harvey (Bill Pullman) and his daughter Kat (Christina Ricci). Innocently attracted to the young girl, Casper befriends Kat as they try to save the ghosts’ home from the evil Carrigan. Eye-popping special effects highlight this magical story that touches (albeit lightly) on the theme of what lies at the heart of human desires.
