Video and Audio File Formats
There are many multimedia file formats. One of the strengths of VLC is that it can handle almost anything that you throw at it. You can also convert files between many of the media formats:

How to Convert Video or Audio with VLC Media Player
- Open VLC.
- Click “Media”.
- Click “Convert / Save”.
- Click “Add”.
- Browse to and choose the file you want to convert.
- Click “Open”.
- Click “Convert / Save”.
- Under “Convert” and next to “Profile” select the file type that you want to convert your file to in the dropdown menu.
- Click the wrench icon for more options.
- Click “Browse”.
- Navigate to a location to save the output file. Enter a name for the file and click “save”.
- Click “Start”.
